Kim Phillips is a dedicated and accomplished professional with over 30 years of experience in medical third-party claims administration, employee benefit consulting and executive healthcare recruiting. Hailing from the vibrant city of Las Vegas, NV, she has made significant contributions to various organizations and has now embarked on an inspiring journey to support the elderly through Connect to Care.
Her passion for caring for others stems not only not only from her extensive professional experience but also from her personal life, as she has helped others and supports her spouse with a complex brain condition and supported both her mom through the terrible disease ALS and mother-in-law through her end-of-life battle with leukemia. Kim is also a successful and triumphant two-time breast cancer survivor.
Throughout her career, Kim has held prominent leadership roles with reputable organizations in the healthcare industry. She served with distinction as a leader at United HealthGroup (UHG). Following her success at UHG, she served with distinction as a key executive at the third-party administrator for the Culinary Workers Health Fund, where she spearheaded innovative approaches to streamline medical claims processes, ensuring timely and accurate benefits for employees and their families.
Kim’s entrepreneurial spirit and profound knowledge of employee benefits led her to serve as a trusted employee benefit consultant, advising companies on optimizing their healthcare plans to better support their workforce. Her insights proved invaluable to numerous businesses in providing comprehensive and cost-effective healthcare solutions.
One of Kim’s most fulfilling leadership roles was serving as the Interim COO for the Teachers Health Trust (THT). Kim managed the health plan operations for 16,000 educators and their families.
Moreover, Kim’s expertise extended to executive healthcare recruitment, where she played a pivotal role in identifying and recruiting top-notch healthcare professionals for various healthcare related companies. Her keen eye for talent and exceptional interpersonal skills made her an asset in building high-performing healthcare teams.
On a personal level, Kim understands the challenges and complexities that come with managing medical conditions. Her own experience with health issues has nurtured her empathy and compassion for others facing similar struggles. Additionally, her unwavering support for her spouse in coping with complex brain conditions has reinforced her dedication to improving the lives of those in need.
The inspiration for starting an elder care concierge services business in Las Vegas came from personal experiences. The founder, along with her husband, mother, and mother-in-law, suffered from debilitating medical conditions and had to navigate and advocate through the health care system. During this time, the founder was reacquainted with a friend who was hospitalized in long-term rehabilitation facilities without any family support and became her first client. This experience highlighted the gap in services for the elderly population in Las Vegas and inspired the creation of this business to provide much-needed support and assistance to those in need.
Driven by a genuine desire to make a positive impact, Kim’s heart is set on supporting the elderly community. Her interactions with seniors have inspired her to create a new venture—a senior concierge business. She envisions a service that not only attends to the physical needs of the elderly but also uplifts their spirits through personalized care, companionship, and genuine empathy. Kim believes that seniors deserve the utmost respect, dignity, and support in their golden years.
